Thanks to all the volunteers, local fashionistas and the fabulous event staff at Robert Hall Winery, the public got to enjoy a glamourous night of runway action all for a good cause. Nearly 200 people came out to see the local trends, indulge in CateringUnlimited.com’s tasty concoctions, drink fantastic Robert Hall wines and raised $1400 for dear Cheyenne Willis and her fight with dystonia. Our own Melissa was there to DJ the event along with KSBY’s Carina Corral serving as emcee. We couldn’t be more proud of our lighting designer Zach’s work for the brilliant lighting layout. The brick walls were glowing and the spectators could enjoy every models ensemble thanks to the bath of white light lining the entire runway. The Barn at the Santa Margarita Ranch is one of our favorite places to work. The balanced blend of lumber and stone leaves thousands of unique shadows in every nook and cranny. When lit correctly, those shadows leave a perfectly rustic texture that really sets the tone of the decor. That said, the Barn is far from rustic. It has all the amenities necessary for a perfect ceremony and reception and can easily fit 300 guests indoors. Here’s a few more shots from the talented Ashely at A. Blake photography.

Adding dedicated and focused lights to the buffet table REALLY brings out the beauty your caterers work. Similar the rest of your decor vendors, caterers spend a lot of time making sure your carefully chosen menu is as beautiful as it is tasty. Often times the buffets are stuck in darker corners where your guests are unable to really enjoy the visual aspects of their meal. Why allocate such a significant piece of your budget to a beautiful culinary spread when it can’t be enjoyed due to mis-managed lighting? Worse yet, caterers may ask to have the house lights turned on for convenience, drastically altering the ambiance and intimacy of your reception. These next images show the benefits of specialized lighting.

Brian and Karen celebrated their wedding at Eagle Castle Winery when most of the county was setting off Fireworks on July 4th.  You got to love Brian’s job.  He’s an Imagineer for Disney.  Meaning he creates all the fun rides at the Disney theme parks.  He’s wanted to do it ever since he was a kid.  You could say he knows a thing or 2 about lighting.  That’s why it was fun for us to bring our new LED up lighting system and gobo projector to his reception. We kept the color of the room a warm amber or “candlelight” color during dinner.  Then when Brian and Karen took their first steps toward the dance floor for their first dance, the entire room changed color and took the guests by surprise.

We installed pin spot lighting on the cake and then back lit the wall behind it with our lighting.  Normally cakes get lost when the lights are dimmed down, but not when it’s pin spotted.  The LED pin spot generates no heat, so their is no fear of a hot light melting the cake.

Notice there are really 2 cakes in this picture.  The main one that we lit, and the smaller one to the right on top of the barrel with no lighting.  Without the correct lighting the cake may look invisible.  Whereas the one with lighting can be seen from any point in the room.

We just got pictures back from the Mike Larson Photography Team from a wedding we did together at Meridian Winery in Paso Robles.  We got a chance to try out our new high powered LED up lighting.  What makes it so different is that they can change to any color instantly or through a slow fade.  We worked with wedding coordinator Laura Robertson from TOS events to install landscape lighting outside to help illuminate the walkway and define the outdoor space.

When it came time for the first dance, as Pat and Carrie stepped onto the dance floor, the entire room slowly changed color to red, with fucia accents on the 2 pillars.  When the first note hit our sparkle lights came on lightly  swept their dance floor.  It was a great romantic evening.

Thanks to David Pascolla, we received some more pics from Andrea and Wes’s Wedding reception at he Cliff’s ballroom in Shell Beach. Our bride, Andrea wanted to change the look and feel of the room using our LED uplighting and LED pinspot lighting.  It had a dramatic visual impact that set her wedding apart.

Before

The Cliffs Ballroom in Shell Beach is the perfect venue for an incredible wedding.  The ceremony overlooks the Ocean, the ballroom looks amazing, the staff is extremely customer service oriented, and the food is incredible.  We were excited to bring our new Kramer Entertainment LED uplighting, and LED pin pots for Andrea and Wess’s Wedding Reception.  You can see the before picture to the left with only house lights on.

Below you can see what happens when we turn the house lights off and turn our lighting on.  The background LED uplighting you see on the walls can be changed to any color or gently fade between colors.  Imagine stepping onto the dance floor for your special dance and the entire room changes color.

The first things your guest will see are the incredible Flowers, done by Panacea, because there are pin spot lights mounted on the ceiling shooting directly at them.

It was an honor to be the DJ and MC for Nick and Yasmin’s wedding at the Stillwater’s Winery in Paso Robles.  Stillwaters is one of Paso Robles great outdoor locations for events and weddings, and they are known for their incredible olive oil as well.  Thanks to Lindsey Han for providing the pictures.

DJ Kevin and I approached the music choices for dancing much differently than we usually do.  Nick and Yasmin had asked for more high energy dance and top 40 than we customarily play.  It was a huge hit for their group and a bunch of fun for us.

We also got a chance to use our new LED decor lighting to give some extra light to both the trees and the vineyard down below.  Keeping with Yasmin’s bridesmaid dress color, we used blue throughout.

Yasmin and Nick, Thanks for having us and I hope you guys come back soon to visit and go wine tasting.

Nicia and Ondrej had their wedding at the beautiful Sea Pines Golf Resort in Los Osos, CA.  Melissa and Brian had the pleasure of performing as the DJ and MC for the evening.  Things strated out the beautiful ceremony site and ended up at the Tent where we setup our new LED decor uplights.  The white walls of the tent make a perfect reflective canvas for the lighting to absord and throw back into the room.  It completely changed the look and feel of the recpetion.  Thanks to Pro Image for doing a great job with the photography and supplying the pictures.
