Before Decor Lighting

Avila Beach Wedding Reception Decor Lighting Thanks to Avila Lighthouse Suites and the Broad Street Event Group, Kramer Entertainment team member Melissa had a birthday party that rules ALL birthday parties! In true PLATINUM PARTY fashion, Panacea Event Floral Design adorned the gorgeous Banquet Facility with fabulous hydrangea centerpieces and swanky lounge furniture and accents while Catering Unlimitedbrought their culinary excellence in the form of a real-time pasta bar with all the fixin’s. Of course, the Kramer Entertainment Lighting team really made the place glow with architectural uplighting, one of a kind pin-spotting for the centerpieces and food tables and a luminous bevy of light-up truss pillars, H2O lights to give the dancefloor a unique wash, a gentle laser star effect and a glowing cocktail bar. Most all of which can be dialed on-the-fly to any color desired. Good thing the phenomenal team fromMike Larson Photography was there to document everyones decorative efforts. Regardless of the Bubble-tinis best efforts, the party sure was a memorable one.

Lighting River Oaks Pavilion, Paso Robles

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Paso Robles Wedding Venue decor LightingThanks to Claire at River Oaks Pavilion, the Broad Street Event Group got to put our talents to good use setting their beautiful event center ablaze with gorgeous place settings, some fantastic floral design and of course, a good helping of decor lighting.

This massive outdoor “gazebo” boasts a phenomenal, pastoral, panoramic view of the surrounding rolling hills, a serene lake and a very open feel. All the while it’s got all the amenities you could ask for like a totally self contained kitchen, connected bathrooms and tons of parking (just to name a few). Many thanks to Sophie from Mike Larson Photography for coming out and snapping some amazing photos of the event.

SLO’s Spectacular Spring Bridal Show on the Horizon

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

As we gear up for the upcoming bridal show produced by our friends at Central Coast Bride (March 21, 2010), I’m reminded bridal show wedding faire san luis obispo central coastthat our efforts should really be aimed directly at the attendees of the show. The brides, grooms, family members and friends are giving up a lovely spring day to immerse themselves into a busy day of high energy exhibits and will likely end up like a dear in headlights. Us vendors should show every person there the same courtesy and respect that we would show someone who walks through our door or calls us on the phone. Be there to help before you’re there to sell. Let your service speak for itself!

Luckily, we at Kramer Entertainment have built a fabulous collaboration with the artistic geniuses at Mike Larson Photography, Panacea Event Floral Design and Epic Weddings at CateringUnlimited.com. Look for us at the show! We’d be happy to share our knowledge and experience in the wonderful world of weddings!

Silverhorse wedding reception lighting central coast winery

Thank you Audrey and Travis for having us as your DJs and Lighting Designers at your Wedding at the beautiful Silverhorse Winery in San Miguel.  It was nice to work alongside one of the best floral designers in our County, Corinne Smith from Panacea Event Floral Designs.  Working alongside Corrine, our lighting designer was able to bring out the key features of the silverhorse winerey’s structure.  Except the 4 sconces on the outside wall, all of the house lights are off using only Kramer Entertainment Decor Lighting.  Although it can change to any color, our brides two choices were candle light and a fucia / purple combo.  We slowly faded between colors at key moments to accent some of the special dances.  Audrey and Travis, thanks for having us and congratulations!

CCWP Autumn Wedding Faire – Pavilion on the Lake Atascadero

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

The Central Coast Wedding Professionals held their second annual Autumn Wedding Faire last Sunday at the Pavilion on the Lake in Atascadero.  Brides had a great chance to meet great vendors as the CCWP faires are the only wedding faires on the Central Coast where vendors have to qualify to participate.  And you could easily tell by the amazing booths that were there.  This faire also had a V.I.B. or Very Important Bride room, for those that preregistered (See pictures below).  We are looking forward to the next Faire on Sunday January 31st at the Embassy Suites in San Luis Obispo.

Here are pictures using our Kramer Entertainment Decor Lighting Design.  Pictures taken by Mike Larson

No Power.. No Problem. Kramer Team to the resue.

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

Imagine spending all that time planning your wedding.  Imagine your cocktail hour coming to an end and all your guests are starting to head over to the reception.  Just then, the power goes out all over town.  You’ve got a dark room, no music, and guests ready to come in and eat dinner.  Not what you were expecting.

In 13yrs of business we’ve never faced this situation until Friday September 18 at Cambria Pines Lodge, when, because of a car accident several miles away, the power went out for 2hrs.  With the room only lit by a few decorative candles, everybody wondered what would happen.

It turns out, we had a special power generator that allowed us just enough power to power our DJ system.  Also, because our new LED lights have extremely low power draw, we had enough power to power one light that we shined in the center of the ceiling allowing everyone to see.  The night turned out to be an incredible party and later the lights finally came back on.  The next day we purchased one of the power generators for each DJ system that our DJs use.  No power, no problem.

Thanks to Patrice for making everything go off without a hitch, even without power.  Also thanks to the Cambria Pines staff who, armed with flashlights, presented an incredible meal on time.  I still don’t know how they did it so smoothly.  Thanks for helping to making Megan and Brent’s wedding everything they’ve always wanted, with or without power.

Jennifer and Scott’s Wedding – Meridian Winery, Paso Robles

Monday, September 28th, 2009

Jennifer and Scott held their wedding at Meridian Winery in Paso Robles last Saturday.  Thanks to superstar coordinator Laura Robertson from TOS Events and Corinne from Panacea Event Floral Design, the place looked amazing.  The use of Fabric above the dancefloor helped to create a sub-roof effect over the event.  We loved bringing our Kramer Entertainment garden string lighting and amber up lighting as it allowed us to turn off the standard fluorescent lighting and create a softer and warmer feel.  They decided not to do a cake, but instead had the dessert bar that is becoming more popular.  It was filled with sweets and cupcakes that we pin spotted for added effect.

We got the chance to work with Rachel from Mike Larson Photography, who is one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet.  Can’t wait to see her pictures.  Epic Weddings at Catering Unlimited did a great job as always with the food.  What a class act.  It’s a pleasure working with all the members of the Broad Street Event Group.

Wedding MBA conference in Las Vegas

Friday, September 25th, 2009

Melissa and I attended the Wedding MBA conference in Las Vegas.  It’s refreshing connecting with wedding businesses across the world and bring home fresh ideas to share with our brides and grooms.  The conference was filled with executives from the knot, weddingwire, Martha Stewart.  Look for WeddingWire.com to become THE online resource for Brides and Vendors.  Our favorite presentation was from Andy Ebon, who had over 1000 in awe with their jaws dropped as he called to attention all the ways wedding vendors have caused “weddings of mass destruction.”  It was a hard truth for some and a reminder of our need for attention to the details.  Among those we had the chance to hang out with were some of National DJ industry greats like Peter Merry, Drax, Randy Bartlett, Ron Brown, and the Kansas American Disc Jockey Association crew.  We can’t wait to share some of the ideas we learned with our brides.
