Matt and Sarah Wedding Lighting, Robert Hall Winery Paso Robles

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

Matt and Sarah chose Robert Hall Winery for their beautiful Paso Robles Wedding.  On a warm day, their ceremony was in the cool cellars below with the reception in the grand amphitheater.  Kramer Entertainment provided not only the MC and DJ services, but also the Decor lighting.  Together with out lighting designer they chose our solid color amphitheater lighting package with theater seating lighting.  Because we use all linked LED lighting, we were able to change and fade between colors for important moments and event transitions.  Call today to schedule an appointment to meet with our full time lighting designer and see all your Robert Hall lighting options.  (805) 544-9900.

Events Ordinance threatens to shut down weddings

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

The San Luis Obispo County supervisors is considering passing a proposal that would limit Wedding Receptions to 50 guests or less when held at an “Ag-Zoned” property.  With the average Central Coast Wedding having a guest count of 125, passing of this proposal would realistically eliminate about 95% of the weddings on these properties.

Some of the most beautiful rustic properties and barns would no longer be available for our brides to have their dream weddings at.  Our brides lose, the property owners lose, the wedding industry loses, the county loses millions in tourism dollars from out of town guests, and our local government loses sale tax dollars.  Help us stop this devastating ordinance put together by a few wealthy landowners who had a few isolated problems with one venue.

-Join us at the CCWP booth every Thursday evening at the San Luis Farmer’s market, sign our petition, and help spread the word.

-Join us and the hundreds of outraged people who will be storming the July 30th Planning Commission meeting at 9am.  CCWP will be distributing their red shirts at the door for us all to wear.

Thanks to David Pascolla, we received some more pics from Andrea and Wes’s Wedding reception at he Cliff’s ballroom in Shell Beach. Our bride, Andrea wanted to change the look and feel of the room using our LED uplighting and LED pinspot lighting.  It had a dramatic visual impact that set her wedding apart.

Nick and Yasmin Rocco, Stillwater’s Winery, Paso Robles

Friday, June 12th, 2009

It was an honor to be the DJ and MC for Nick and Yasmin’s wedding at the Stillwater’s Winery in Paso Robles.  Stillwaters is one of Paso Robles great outdoor locations for events and weddings, and they are known for their incredible olive oil as well.  Thanks to Lindsey Han for providing the pictures.

DJ Kevin and I approached the music choices for dancing much differently than we usually do.  Nick and Yasmin had asked for more high energy dance and top 40 than we customarily play.  It was a huge hit for their group and a bunch of fun for us.

We also got a chance to use our new LED decor lighting to give some extra light to both the trees and the vineyard down below.  Keeping with Yasmin’s bridesmaid dress color, we used blue throughout.

Yasmin and Nick, Thanks for having us and I hope you guys come back soon to visit and go wine tasting.

Buffy and Chris wedding at Robert Hall Winery with new LED uplighting

Click here to see the before and after video of the lighting

We enjoyed performing for another great wedding at beautiful Robert Hall Winery thanks to DJ Melissa and DJ Brian. Except this time, we were able to supply the caves with decor up lighting for the first time. It looked incredible and created an entirely different feel. The picture shows purple, but could be matched to any color. And thanks to LED technology, we can change colors instantly if we need to change the abiance for the different wedding moments.  It’s a choice for brides who want to add a little something different that seperates their wedding from others.  And it’s a pefect compliment to Buffy and Chris’s great floral designer Panacea Event Floral Design.  Thanks to Allyson Magda for doing an amazing job as the wedding photographer and for supplying the picture.  The food was great as always thanks to Trumpet Vine catering.  A great team equals a great event.

Winetasting in Paso Robles with Tony and Heidi

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

Last Thursday we met with one of our couple, Heidi and Tony s at their wedding venue for a site check.  They picked the Casitas Bed and Breakfast in Arroyo Grande.  It’s a somewhat new, but incredible outdoor wedding venue overlooking Arroyo Grande’s rolling hills.  We’re looking forward to being their DJ for their special wedding day.

Since they are from out of the area and loved wine, we decided to take them wine tasting with us in our home town, Paso Robles.  We started at Zenaida Winery and ran into our good friend Jessica and enjoyed some of their great reds.  Next we headed East on the 46 out to Vina Robles.  Even though we’ve done weddings their before, we’ve never tasted their wines.  They really were great.  Lastly we headed across the street to Robert Hall Winery, where Tony and I felt the need to step up our fashion.

It was really nice to take a day off and spend it with some cool people.  Heidi, Tony, we’re looking forward to the wedding.

Ron and Stacy Kreitz Wedding at Shorecliffs in Pismo Beach

Saturday, November 1st, 2008

On a day when everybody expected rain, the weather was incredible, considering it was November in Pismo Beach. Ron and Stacey chose Shorecliffs as their wedding venue and it was great as always. The ceremony overlooked the ocean and had great live music thank to the talents of Bridesmaid Amy Sullivan playing violin, her father on the keyboard, and Kat as the singer. It’s always the DJs fear that the friends of the bride and groom that volunteer to perform at the ceremony are inexperienced. This was definitely not the case. Stacy’s friends were amazing. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them if they decided to make a business out of it.

Shorecliffs is a popular place for couples to get married and their is no wonder why. They have a beautiful view during the ceremony overlooking the ocean, a beautiful ocean view during the reception, and hotel accommodations on site so guests don’t have to find a safe ride back to a different hotel.

The evening started out great with the wedding party livening up the crowd as they made their entrance. We always encourage this as it truly sets the tone for your guests to follow. If you want a high energy wedding, it all starts from a high energy grand entrance.

My favorite part was the cake cutting. You knew they weren’t going to play nice when they picked out a song like “Hit me with your best shot!” And they didn’t. They nailed each other and when Ron stood up on a chair to show the crowd, we raised the music even louder and everybody cheered. While this show worked great for them, I’m not sure I would recommend this to everybody. You might not get the result your looking for if your partner isn’t on the same page.

Ron and Stacey’s friends were a great group full of positive energy. It was a pleasure meeting many of them. And we are thankful they included us in their special day.

Jim and Heather Pettit Wedding at Robert Hall Winery

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

The day started off with a beautiful ceremony setup on the terrace at Robert Hall Winery, one of Paso Robles finest wedding venues. One of my favorite officiants, Barbara Koenig was there to bless the wedding. In our last consultation a few weeks earlier, Heather wanted something other than the traditional Wedding March song to walk down the isle. So when it was time for her to make her entrance, we started playing “At Last” by Etta James. After the first 20 seconds it takes the song to build up, and right when Etta James sings her first words “At Last…” the huge wooden double doors opened and Heather and her Father came into view. Weddings are a collection of moments and this was the first one of the evening.

The cocktail hour was fun, especially with Mike Larson’s new photobooth setup for the guests to take fun pictures, and Robert Hall’s excellent wine. The guests had a fun time while Mike Larson Photography got some great shots of Jim and Heather walking through the vines.

We headed into the Mertitage Room which looked amazing thanks to their coordinator Jenn Hocker from Allure Event Designs. I was impressed with her attention to detail.

And the smore bar she brought in for dessert was amazing!!

Heather loved 80’s rock and so did her guests. There was so much energy in the room, it was hard for people to stay off the dancefloor. Everyone had a great time and we were happy to be a part of their special day. Congratulations Jim and Heather!

Andrew and Sandra’s Wedding at Villa Toscana Paso Robles

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

Andrew and Sandra’s wedding was beautiful. It all starts with the incredible landscape of Villa Toscana, an Italian themed upscale bed and breakfast located in Paso Robles. One thing that makes this such a great venue is that you can have several of your guests stay there, literally 10 feet from the reception. It’s like having several incredible vacation rentals and a breathtaking wedding site all in one. Mary, their event manager is always a pleasure to work with.

The energy was fun and festive starting with the grand entrance from the balcony down into the courtyard. My favorite part was the toasts for Sandra and the roasts for Andrew. As soon as dancing started, it was hard to get everyone to stop. At 10pm when the reception was over, they were having so much fun, that they had us move into their banquet room for an after party. This is a new trend we are seeing at weddings. Many couples are planning their reception with music geared towards everybody, followed by an after party close with more club style music for the younger guests who want to keep the party going.

Their photographer, Cameron Ingalls, is an incredible and easy for us to work with. I bet Andrew and Sandra can’t wait to see their finished album. Congratulations Andrew and Sandra, thank you for including us on your wedding day.
